  • I'm nicknamed Cathy (short for Cathleen), which was a pretty common name in the 50s and 60s. It is rare I meet a young Cathy...lots of girls named C/Katherine and C/Kaitlin, however.

  • I live in a climate where it is sandal weather 7 to 9 months of each year. There is nothing worse than a man (or woman) wearing sandals with long/overgrown/yellowed toenails and calloused/cracked heels! Pedicures are a perfectly fine way for anyone to keep their feet healthy and presentable.

  • Agreed. My son was "tongue tied", but it wasn't caught at birth. While he didn't have speech issues, he couldn't stick his tongue out (it bothered him!) and the dentist hinted at future gum and dental issues if uncorrected. He had a frenectomy as a pre-teen and has never regretted it.

  • Unless the article is referring to Cedar Creek Lake, Cedar Creek is around 30-ish minutes east of Austin, in neighboring Bastrop County (it also refers to Hwy 71...again, Bastrop County). I know we have a big state, but a quick Google search would have been useful.

  • I "fired" our pediatrician when my child was still fairly young. The doctor was highly respected and very knowledgeable, but he was also dismissive and condescending. As a new parent, I felt intimidated.

  • Whether marijuana should be legalized or not isn't the issue here. This boy was exposed to something that no 11-year-old should be exposed to, so he took matters into his own hands. Good for him. Mom and stepfather should have found somewhere other than the family home to light up.

  • You have something there. At age 27, I discontinued oral contraception (intentionally) and was pregnant within one month. My OB/Gyn told me it would take months to get pregnant and I foolishly believed her. My pregnancy was high risk and I almost lost the baby at the four-month mark.
